MarineMax Fort Myers recently concluded the acquisition of the only on-water, full-service marina and retail facility in Fort Myers. Along with the acquisition, MarineMax Fort Myers has contracted with GCG Construction to build a new, state-of-the-art Service Center at the facility that will serve Southwest Florida. The public was invited to a groundbreaking ceremony which was held on February 7, 2015. Once completed MarineMax Fort Myers will service yachts up to 80-feet under cover.

The excitement was palpable as MarineMax Fort Myers Store Manager, Ryan West, and GCG Construction Owner, Lerin Byrd broke ground beginning the construction cycle for the new MarineMax Fort Myers. A throng of over 350 people consisting MarineMax customers, marina guests, the entire MarineMax Fort Myers team and media applauded and cheered as the pair carried out the symbolic gesture with the traditional gold shovels.

Following the groundbreaking ceremony there was a christening ceremony for some of the recent MarineMax customer boats and the bulldozer that will be a big part of the construction process. Guests enjoyed a live DJ, hors d’oeuvres and an open bar served under a large tent. The local Palm Casual set up lounge areas where guests could relax on exceptional outdoor furniture.

“MarineMax Fort Myers at Deep Lagoon is much more than a retail center for premium boat brands. Yes, we have built our business by selling and servicing premium brand boats, but with boating seminars, an outstanding marina, our famous MarineMax Getaways!® and our highly experienced delivery captain, we are also a tremendous resource for the area’s dynamic boating community,” said Ryan West, MarineMax Fort Myers Store Manager.

With 25-years of history in Southwest Florida selling and servicing the top premium brands. MarineMax is the local dealer for Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Meridian Yachts, Ocean Alexander and Harris Pontoon Boats.

“The economy is booming and we are seeing an upswing in boating in the area,” Ryan continued. “We believe this is the time to build an ultramodern boating center to support the growing need of the area’s boat owners. When finished, our service center will provide world-class service to local boaters in a world-class facility. Our reputation hinges on our ability to sustain long-term relationships with our clients. We are extremely pleased to broaden our capacity to deliver on our commitment.”
