PORT CLINTON, Ohio, (June 9, 2015) – MarineMax Port Clinton is offering a Women on Water® (WOW) class for women interested in learning the safe and proper methods of operating a single engine boat. The course is open to the public and will be held at MarineMax Port Clinton on June 11, 2015. The WOW course is both classroom and on the water, actually operating boats that MarineMax provides. This course is free for MarineMax customers and is only $30.00 for non-MarineMax customer.
“We really enjoy watching the transition of the women who come to the WOW course change from timid and reluctant to confident boat operators,” said Trey Hardy, MarineMax Port Clinton Store Manager. “Typically, they say that they are taking the course in case something happens to their spouse and if they had to take over they would know what to do. They usually leave feeling so good about what they learned that they start calling their girlfriends to schedule a ladies’ day out on their boats.”
The course is taught in a calm and non-threatening environment by a MarineMax provided professional captain. The course begins at 8:30 a.m. and finishes at noon. The women attending will learn the rules of the road, boating safety, line handling, docking and close-in maneuvering, along with other boating tips. Space is limited. To avoid disappointment, MarineMax recommends to reserve your spot now.
