Did You Know

More than 60 percent (nearly 190,000) of the students in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties come from families that can’t afford lunch, let alone school supplies. Over 13,000 of these children are homeless and that number continues to rise each year.

207 of 338 public schools in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties are designated “high need.”

In many cases, devoted teachers spend between $500 and $1,000 of their own money to buy supplies for their students and classrooms.

“The crew at MarineMax Orlando, many of whom have children that attend public schools in this area, want to support the kids that, through no fault of their own, start the school year without the tools to get ahead,” Bryan Douglas, MarineMax Orlando Store Manager said. “Through A Gift For Teaching, we are able to support the real heroes, the teachers, and give a little back to our community.”
