Two standouts at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show are the all-new Sea Ray 400 Sundancer and her sister boat, the 400 Fly. Both are stunningly beautiful with their gleaming gelcoats and flashing stainless-steel. From the keel up these two boats share a common platform. The obvious difference is the spacious flybridge added to the Sea Ray 400 Fly.

The attention to detail that Sea Ray puts into the 400 Sundancer and 400 Fly is completely evident. The finest materials, from elegant teak floors to the smooth solid-surface countertops, make the interior of the 400’s elegantly rich.

As you board the boat via the swim platform you’ll notice a L-shaped bench seating aft and starboard. On the port side forward in the cockpit is a corner bench seat. With the sliding glass enclosure open, there is natural flow into the salon that makes the 400’s great for social gatherings and entertaining. The host can be a part of the action with the optional, cleverly positioned transom gourmet, summer kitchen with a built in grill and sink.

The 360-degree vistas from the salon are provided by large side windows, the sliding glass enclosure and a generous windshield. The 400 Sundancer comes with a power-actuated sun roof that lets the breeze and light inside the salon for a natural open feel that brings you closer to nature. In turn the 400 Fly features an upper helm station and lots of additional room to socialize on a beautiful sunny summer day.

Both boats feature well-equipped galleys that are situated forward of the salon on the port side, opposite the cleanly designed, salon control station. The openness of the salon allows for easy conversations with those at the helm or in the galley.

At the end of the day 2 full-width private staterooms beckon you and your guests below for a more intimate night. The master comes standard with a large closet system and a single shared head. A master en-suite head with shower and outside hanging locker option replaces the closet system. The aft stateroom can sleep three with settee and sliding bunks that convert to a double berth when preferred.

The Sea Ray 400 Sundancer and 400 Fly benefit from Sea Ray’s commitment to innovation across all models. New Wave Technology such as Quiet Ride™, Dynamic Running Surface™, Digital Dash™, as well as design breakthroughs including SkyFlow Design™.

A truly clever option is the hydraulic swim platform that lowers into the water. As it lowers, steps reveal themselves and unfold to provide easy access to the water.

Whether you prefer a the sportier Sea Ray 400 Sundancer or the added social space and upper helm of the Sea Ray 400 Fly, both are standouts in their class.
