MarineMax Dallas to Host Endless Summer Bash to Benefit Toys For Tots

DALLAS, Texas (November 19, 2015) – MarineMax Dallas announced today that they will be holding an Endless Summer Bash to benefit Toys for Tots from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. on December 5, 2015. Attendees will be treated to live entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and their choice of refreshments. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support Toys for Tots annual Christmas drive. For each donated toy, participants will receive a raffle ticket for special prizes including wakeboards, boots, apparel and more.

“We are not ready for summer to end, so we are going to kick the cold to the curb and celebrate an Endless Summer of fun,” declared Tyler Choyke, MarineMax Dallas Store Manager. “We are inviting everyone to don their favorite tank top, bring an unwrapped gift and enjoy a relaxing evening of summer fun.”

Toys for Tots began in 1947 when U.S. Marine Corps Reservist, Major Bill Hendricks’ wife, Diane, crafted a homemade doll and asked her husband to find an organization that would give the doll to a needy child at Christmas. Failing to find such an agency, Diane suggested that Bill start one. Bill and a group of Marine Reservist joined together to distribute 5,000 toys in the Los Angeles community. The project was so successful that the U.S. Marine Corps adopted Toys for Tots the following year as a nationwide effort.

“We are proud to support this incredible organization that annually assures countless, less fortunate children in the Dallas area will receive a toy for Christmas,” continued Choyke. “The Marine Corps volunteers are the real heroes and they provide an awesome service to our community. By participating in our Endless Summer Bash our customers can enjoy an evening of summer fun and get a sneak peek of the brand new 2016 models, all while supporting Toys for Tots in our community.”
