First Seen at the 2015 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

Many boat manufacturers consider the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show one of the best opportunities to introduce new models to potential buyers. This year’s show was no exception. Several of the recreational fish boat brands had standout models that they parade out for the throngs of people that attended the 2015 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this month.

Boston Whaler long ago mastered their hull form and fishing features that gives operators confidence and success fishing offshore on their Outrage lineup. Lately they have been introducing models that also hit the sweet-spot on delivering crowd pleasing comfort and a social environment for enjoying a day of cruising and playing. At the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Boston Whaler won the Innovations Award for their dual console 230 Vantage. Boston Whaler followed up with the 270 Vantage. During the 2015 model year they introduced the all-new 320 Vantage and ginormous 420 Outrage. All four models reflect Boston Whalers objective of delivering exceptional offshore fishing experiences while offering the comfort and convenience features that make them ideal for sharing casual time with friends and family.

Sailfish Introduces Their Latest and Largest Dual Console

Last year Sailfish introduced their 275 DC boat which quickly became very popular. This year they follow up with the bigger, bolder Sailfish 325 DC (first seen above). With the Sailfish Variable Degree Stepped (VDS) hull, the 325 DC delivers the same smooth dry ride that Sailfish is famous for.

The Sailfish 325 DC is decked out with all the fishing features that people have come to expect from Sailfish. Add the comfort of ample forward seating and storage and foldout cockpit seating and you have the perfect crossover boat. The cockpit galley is well equipped and backed up with a pantry in the port side console. The large head with solid surface countertops, sink, pullout shower, and soap dispenser is under the helm console.

Scout’s Latest Skinny Water Boat the 231 XS

Steve Pott’s earliest models of Scout Boats were designed for the Carolina’s inshore waters. The newest Scout launched at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is the Scout 231 XS (first seen above) is a hardcore, no compromise inshore fishing machine. Sporting a high performance stepped hull with a 300 horse power outboard engine, the 231 XS achieves speeds in the mid-60’s. Like all Scout Boats, the 231 XS is exceptionally well executed with two tone seating and well laid out center console helm. The custom leaning post features wrap around back rests that support the operator and a companion.

The aft fishing platform opens to provide bench seating for two. In turn, the aft bench seat lifts to provide excellent access to the under deck plumbing. There is room for the 45-quart Yeti cooler under the forward fishing platform. The port and starboard rod storage boxes are lockable.

The new Scout 231 XS, like all Scout Boats, has exceptional fit and finish, well executed upholstery and beautiful, mirror-like gel coats throughout.

The Versatile Grady-White Freedom 275

Grady-White reworked their popular Freedom 275 (first seen above) to make it even more appealing to families that like to do it all, fishing, tow-sports, exploring or simply cruising to a favorite restaurant. The new, dual console Freedom 275 sports a wider helm area and redesigned seating that creates a more useable cockpit. Grady also added a larger lockable entry for the port console’s head that allows for longer rod storage. Grady also added a reconfigured optional wet bar that can be equipped with a grill and refrigerator.

Forward there is seating for up to six people and pets. The companion helm seating is wider and behind the companion seating there is an electromechanically operated lounger. The foldaway aft bench provides extra seating when needed and folds away when fish fighting is in play.

The through-the-hull anchor chute keeps the decks clear and for the tow sport enthusiasts there is an optional, newly restyled ski pylon that fully recesses into the transom. The redesigned 2016 Grady-White Freedom 275 makes it easy to fish, play or just chill. And if you want do all three in the same day the Freedom 275 can do that too.
