What’s New at the Miami International Boat Show – Everything

MIBS Venue
Since 1969, the National Marine Manufacturers Association has produced the Miami International Boat Show at the 60-year-old Miami Beach Convention Center. But, times-are-a-changing. This year the boat show will be moved to the recently renovated Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin on Virginia Key and MarineMax will be there in a big way. MarineMax will be manning the Sea Ray, Scout and Scarab displays all while also manning the Sea Ray Yachts, Azimut, Ocean Alexander, Galeon and Aquila displays over at the Yacht Miami Beach yacht and brokerage show, which is, and always was, a separate show produced by Show Management on Collins Avenue.

Getting around Miami has never been easy. To alleviate the stress of getting to and from different venues, there are free shuttles and water taxis running throughout the show. There is also public parking at select locations that connect to the free shuttle and water taxis.

In addition to all the new boats, there will be displays for the latest gadgets and gizmos. There will be venues to eat and get a drink and opportunities to be entertained. Of course, there is Miami Beach itself to enjoy; especially the nightlife!

The main reason that most people attend Miami International Boat Show is to see the new models from their favorite manufacturers. This year on Virginia Key, there will be lots to see including the newest Sea Ray SPX and SLX sport models, along with Sea Ray’s other Sport Cruiser models. The new Scout 420 LXF and 231 XS and the complete lineup of Scarab Jet Boats will be on display.

Over on Collins Avenue, at the Yachts Miami Beach show, there will be fabulous Sea Ray Yachts, Sport Yacht and the L-Class luxury models. Stunning Azimut and Benetti models will grace the docks alongside fantastic Hatteras Convertibles and Motoryachts. The amazingly roomy and luxurious Aquila models and world-class Ocean Alexander models will be on display at Collins Avenue as well.

However, the newest thing to adorn the Collins Avenue venue is the never-before-seen in North America, Galeon Yachts. Galeon Yachts are a 30-year-old Europen brand, famous around the world for combining old-world craftsmanship with the latest technology and amazing innovations. Galeon’s 500 FLY just received the European Powerboat of the Year award at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, the world’s largest indoor boat show, and will be on display at the Yachts Miami Beach yachts and brokerage show.

New is the name-of-the-game at the Miami International Boat Show and Yachts Miami Beach. See you at the show(s).

MarineMax Announces a New Ocean Alexander 100 Motoryacht Owner

CLEARWATER, Fla., (December 10, 2015) – MarineMax announced today that they have a new Ocean Alexander 100 Motoryacht owner. This model was first introduced to the public at the 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show where The Ocean Alexander 100 received a lot of attention and acclaim by yacht enthusiasts and critics from around the world.

“After almost one year of extensive research comparing competitive models, my clients chose the Ocean Alexander 100 Motoryacht for their family,” said James Corts, MarineMax Sales Consultant. “The fully enclosed Skylounge was the deciding factor, they really liked that they could operate the vessel in comfort no matter what the weather brings. This configuration also frees up space on the main deck for a forward lounge and desk area.”

The Ocean Alexander 100 is designed by Evan K. Marshall as part of the highly successful Ocean Alexander full-beam master stateroom arrangement with his-and-her heads. The forward VIP stateroom and two guest staterooms each have en-suite heads and plenty of storage. The living space on the main deck affords a dining table that seats eight and massive seating areas for socializing. The galley is a stand-out in its class with the space and professional appliances for a chef to prepare true gourmet meals.

Ocean Alexander uses inventive aluminum-beam engineering and unidirectional carbon fiber to add exceptional strength without adding weight. This allowed them to design the 100 with the most massive window views and a living space usually found only in megayachts.

“My clients intend to make extensive use of their new Ocean Alexander 100,” added Corts. “With the highly efficient hull and 4,000 gallon fuel capacity, they will be able to reach distant ports in luxurious comfort and style.”
