MarineMax Delivers First Azimut Magellano 76 in American Waters

POMPANO BEACH, Fla., (June 14, 2016) – MarineMax announced today that they have delivered the first Azimut Magellano 76 at the MarineMax Pompano Yacht Center. The Magellano 76 was conceived as a modern trawler that combines seaworthiness and long-range capabilities with luxurious living spaces.

“My client and the new owner of the Magellano 76 already appreciated the Azimut penchant for quality and innovation, having owned a new Azimut 55S prior to purchasing the Magellano,” explained Mike Bader, Senior Sales Executive at MarineMax Pompano Yacht Center. “After purchasing the 55S, he quickly realized that as much as he loved his Azimut, he wanted more and shopped all the brands for a larger yacht. After extensive research, my client came back to the MarineMax Pompano Yacht Center due to the incredible support and service that MarineMax has provided him and he chose the Azimut Magellano 76 for its size, range and distinctive style.”

The Magellano features a grand salon with contiguous views from the cockpit entry to the center line helm. Below the main deck there is plenty of light with side hull windows all cabins. The full-beam, mid-ship owner’s stateroom features a centerline double berth and an en-suite shower and head. Forward leads to the VIP stateroom which also has a centerline double berth and en-suite shower and head. Each guest stateroom (2) have twin beds with separate shower and head compartments. Accomodations for the crew are in the double cabin under the cockpit deck.

Powered by twin 1,000 horsepower MAN V8 diesels, the hull is specifically designed to efficiently cruise at 11 to 17 knots with a top speed of 22 knots. With nearly 2,000 gallons fuel capacity, the Magellano offers worldclass range for cruises to distant ports of call.

MarineMax Pensacola at Bahia Mar is Seeking Volunteers for Bayou Chico Cleanup

PENSACOLA, Fla., (June 8, 2016) – MarineMax Pensacola at Bahia Mar is asking for volunteers to join the MarineMax team at the Bahia Mar Marina on Saturday, June 25, 2016, where they will lead a Bayou Chico Trash Round-up event in conjunction with the Bayou Chico Association. The event will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with boats leaving the marina at 9:30 a.m. Trash bags and dip nets will be provided for each boat. At 11:00 a.m. MarineMax will host a cookout for all the participants as they return.

“We are all excited to have this opportunity to help restore Bayou Chico to a more natural state,” offered Mark Breton, General Manager MarineMax Pensacola at Bahia Mar. “It’s a chance to give back to the community we serve and the beautiful environment we all share.”

The Bayou Chico Association is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Bayou Chico. A community-based, non-profit organization, the Bayou Chico Association is made up of area residences, businesses and boat owners working together to effectively identify and solve environmental problems threatening Bayou Chico. They strive to accomplish these goals through public education, action and advocacy.

MarineMax to Host Free Seminar – Trolling for Wahoo, Dolphin and Tuna

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla., (June 1, 2016) – MarineMax announced today that their Panama City Beach store will be hosting a fishing seminar on how to catch wahoo, dolphin and tuna on June 11, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Each year the offshore fishing begins to pick up beginning in June and lasts through September and many consider this the best time to fish the Panama City area. This seminar is designed to provide tips and techniques that build angler confidence and disseminate methodologies to successfully catch catch wahoo, dolphin and tuna.
Tom Putnam, from Half-Hitch Tackle Store, who has been the fishing seminar instructor for the last 14 years, will be leading the seminar. He will share extensive expertise on catching these elusive game fish. Tom will detail the proper approaches using various rods, reels, tackle and bait. He will also coach on bait presentation and landing techniques for these unpredictable fighters. Printed materials will be handed out for future reference and professional vocalist Bob Fowler will provide entertainment during the halftime break.

MarineMax to Host USCG Safety Couse in Panama City Beach Store

Auxiliary officers to host their June “Safe Boating Course” for this year’s boating season. This course will be held on June 4, 2016 at the MarineMax Panama City Beach facility from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

The course is designed to familiarize a novice or intermediate boater with boat handling and boating safety. It can also serve as a refresher course for those more experienced boaters. The cost is $35.00 per participant, $20.00 for each additional family member. This includes all classroom materials and lunch.

“This informative, hands-on course is a seminar version of the U.S.C.G. Auxiliary’s popular online course,” said Bob Fowler, sales consultant and broker, MarineMax Panama City Beach. “We try to have fun while interacting with personal instructors by sharing important safety practices, operational skills and maintenance advice that will keep you and your family protected while having fun on the water.”

MarineMax Dallas Yacht Center will Splash First Azimut in Dallas

DALLAS, Texas, (June 2, 2016) – MarineMax Dallas Yacht Center announced today that in June the first Azimut Yacht will arrive in Dallas and be available for public viewing by making an appointment for a private showing. The new 2016 Azimut 50 Fly combines contemporary Italian styling with plenty of outdoor social spaces via the spacious cockpit, flybridge and forward sun pad.

“The designers were challenged to design a 50-foot yacht that would mimic the incredibly popular Azimut 80,” explained Tyler Choyke, MarineMax Dallas Store Manager. “By doing just that, they created a stylistic cohesiveness throughout the Azimut flybridge collection.”

The main deck interior includes a salon, dining area and a raised helm. Below the main deck is the galley and three cabins. The master stateroom is full beam, amidships with a centerline berth and ensuite head. The VIP stateroom, forward, also features a centerline berth and shares a head with the starboard side guest stateroom.

Equipped with twin 670 hp Volvo Penta D11 diesels, the 50 Fly will be capable of speeds exceeding 30 knots, easily cruising at 27 knots.

First Ever Boat Show at City of Pasadena Block Party

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla., (May 19, 2016) MarineMax St. Petersburg, in cooperation with the City of Gulfport, will present the first boat show to be held during the annual South Pasadena Block Party Saturday, May 21, 2016.

“Come join MarineMax at the Block Party. Along with the usual fun, food and entertainment there will be boats from some of the top brands on display. Brands like Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Nautique, and more,” said Joshua Lavine, MarineMax St. Petersburg Store Manager.

Presented by the Palm of Pasadena Hospital, the City of South Pasadena Block Party begins at noon and continues until 4:00 p.m. There will by live music, a car show, food and drinks, health screenings, fire truck demonstrations, fun activities for the children and this year, the first ever boat show. Gale had been with MarineMax Pier 66 from 2001 through 2007 when he moved to the MarineMax Stuart facility successfully managing and guiding the store through the recent economic downturn and recovery. He now returns to the east coast’s exclusive Ocean Alexander dealer as Store Manager.

MarineMax Clearwater Expands Their Commitment to the Tampa Bay Boat Show

MarineMax Kent Narrow Changes Name and Location

STEVENSVILLE, Md., (April 25, 2016) – MarineMax Kent Narrows announced today that they are changing locations from their present facility in Grasonville to the Bay Bridge Marina in Stevensville, Maryland.
